About
Software Engineer · iBtest · 2023 — present
I'm a software engineer focused on backend systems, APIs, and infrastructure for manufacturing and automotive operations.
One of the projects I'm most proud of is a quoting engine built from 823 historical supplier quotes. It replaced a process that could take two weeks with an instant estimate, with predictions typically landing within 20% of the actual price.
I started out building software for external clients, spending roughly two years working against someone else's deadlines and requirements before moving into internal systems. That taught me that good software is often less about writing code and more about understanding how people actually work, turning vague requirements into something concrete, and knowing what is worth building. These days I spend most of my time on the backend and the systems underneath it: APIs, data models, databases, and infrastructure. I've deployed everything from Docker Compose on a bare VPS to managed AWS services, and I have opinions about when each is the right call.
I'm increasingly interested in the intersection of backend engineering and AI. I'm currently building a vector-search CRM on my own hardware to explore where semantic search actually provides value, and where it's just decoration.
I'm always interested in hearing about interesting backend, API, and cloud infrastructure work, whether remote or here in Guadalajara.
